On the day President Joseph Robinette Biden Jr took office, for the first time in the 240-year history of the United States, many events took place, including hopeful, surprising, and disturbing aspects.

Joe Biden, who was sworn in on January 20 after winning the election at the age of 78, became the oldest president to be elected for the first time in US presidential history. Interestingly, his predecessor, President Trump, was also the aged president in US history at the time of his election.
